Life is a roller-coaster for HBL Associates

Manchester-based engineering consultancy, HBL Associates, has been awarded a contract to provide civil and structural design of the new DUPLO Dream Coaster at the Legoland Windsor resort.

The DUPLO Dream Coaster has been designed specifically to provide pre-school children aged 2 to 5 with their first roller coaster experience, taking them on a journey to explore their wildest dreams and fire their imagination.

Built as part of an extension to the resort’s popular DUPLO Valley attraction, which opened in 2013, this new ride is scheduled for completion by March 2020. As well as expanding DUPLO Valley, work will also be carried out at some of the resort’s other family-favourite attractions, including DUPLO Valley Airport and the Brickville outdoor playing area.

Further reinforcing HBL Associates’ reputation in the theme park sector, this latest project continues the company’s relationship with Merlin Entertainments and Legoland Windsor that goes back over 10 years, to when it designed Legoland’s first underwater ride, Atlantis.

Earlier this year, HBL also helped to deliver the Haunted House Monster Party at Legoland Windsor, which has since gone on to be one of this summer’s most popular attractions.
