HBL Associates has announced a major restructure of its management team, with business founder, Henry Long standing down as director and the internal promotion of three associate directors to the role of board directors.
The move will see Henry continue his association with the practice as a consultant of the civil and structural engineering business he first established in Stockport in 1991.
Meanwhile, associate directors, Abdul Ben Ghalbon, Andy Smith and Liam Massey have all been promoted, joining current director, Steve Holmes on the new senior management team.
Commenting on his decision, Henry said: “It is never easy to relinquish the reins of a successful business that you’ve established and developed for nearly 30 years. However, I can do so now safe in the knowledge that we have an excellent management team in place that shares my long-term vision and ambition for this company.”
Director, Steve Holmes added: “Clearly, Henry’s experience, knowledge and business contacts are invaluable, but, thanks to a period of efficient succession planning, we have a well-established team of directors that can seamlessly manage the transition, and are ready to drive the business forward with the full support of a talented and loyal workforce.”
“The senior team has all worked closely alongside Henry for many years, some throughout their entire careers, and they understand and embrace the culture and values of this company. Organisational change will always create new challenges, not least when it involves the person at the helm. However, I would like to reassure all staff, clients and business partners that they can look forward to a bright future with HBL Associates, one based on us maintaining high-quality customer service as a priority and the continued delivery of exciting and creative engineering projects across a broad range of sectors.”
